The bride of Wildenstein says Howe was appointed after a rigorous recruitment process.
Basically everyone else turned you down so it was either Eddie Howe or Harry Redknapp.

Apparently Howe turned down Celtic as not all his coaching staff wanted to go up there, but Newcastle is hardly around the corner. Who knows.

Howe is a very good coach. And if the rumours are true that Marc Overmars is coming as director of football in January. Then Howe won’t be buying or selling the players. All he got to worry about is getting through to May. And with some of the dross around them. It ain’t an impossibility. Could be a savvy appointment.

I like Eddie Howe and would have been happy to have had him here if the situation was right. Meant to be a bit like Moyes, likes to be hands on with all aspects of the club, a workaholic who gives it his all, with a good loyal team around him.
Hard to say how it will go though as the owners are weird and the Toon fans don't need much of an excuse to turn on a Southerner.

When Howe took over at Bournemouth they had a transfer embargo and a -17 point deficit at the very bottom of the Football League.
The fact he kept them in the League on the final day at all was miraculous.
To then go on to take the club all the way up through the pyramid to the Premier League and then keep them there for 5 years makes your assessment look foolish.
They only got relegated because of Aston Villa gaining a point they shouldn't have had if any one of 4 officials and VAR had seen the Villa keeper carry the ball over the line against Sheffield United.
Yes he lost his way towards the end of that season but to boldly pronounce he is a shite manager and will fail dismally is frankly a bit thick.

I think some of the bigger names are experienced enough to leave the hard work to someone like HOWE and maybe come in further down the line to spend the big money once he has worked out how to shift the likes of Joelinton and bloody Shelvey and had a couple of years of pain.

someone correct me if wrong, but didn't howe fall out with a few of the bournemouth players who left, in particular fraser (who he didn't pick for months) and ritchie? not really going to unite the dressing room is it, seeing him turn up? :.)

Line up the best manager to keep them up, fucking obvious, Allardyce
Plan for his replacement the day he came in
Line up the players you need to keep you up, proper defenders
Develop off pitch, structure etc
